How To Make A Solid Income Selling Beats Online!

Dear MFS blog readers, it's been a while since I've posted here & there's a good reason for that (more about that later). I decided to get back & let you guys know about some great techniques & steps to make, so you can get a pretty solid monthly income selling beats online! Let's get right to it.

As I said, I've been away for a good reason. Well, the reason is that I've been working on some pretty crazy stuff lately, real big stuff, that's also the reason why I stopped selling beats on my website. But something weird happened. Let me tell you this short story:

So I got in touch with some great industry personalities, songwriters, managers, A&R's. My job as the producer was to make a bunch of songs. Not a big deal for me, since I'm a bit experienced already. 1 Song (fully produced & written) takes about 1 day of work. As you can imagine, after I made a bunch of songs I had a lot (really a lot) of free time.

What did I do in that free time? Partying, drinking, smoking? Those who know me, know that that's not my thing. Of course I started a few more projects to make EVEN MORE money...that's my mentality, can't change it...haha. Anyways. Something crazy happened. As I was trying to make some money some funny ads pop'd up. Of course I closed them, because I hate ads, just like anybody else. But I had that banner in mind all day long, because it said I can make $463,46 (or so) online, all on auto-pilot. Ok, so I had to google that, it sounded too promising to me.

As you can image, I kept digging & tried to get more & more information about making money online by not working at all (meaning all on auto-pilot). So I bought many courses, software & ebooks...just because I was really curious about this whole thing. I can't tell you how many hundreds of $$$ I spend within a few days, haha, but I don't regret it to be honest.

Before I tell you the simple method, I'd like to warn you: You will never make money by 100% No Work. There is always a little bit of work you have to do, but once you're done, you're on auto-pilot & you can watch the money come in. Simple, but it takes a little effort! Ok, let's start:

  1. Beat Catalog - The very first thing you need is a catalog of beats. I'd suggest about 50 or so. Very important: upload new beats regularly! I always noticed, in the weeks that I didn't upload any beats to my website, I kept having less & less sales. So keep that in mind. Big question: How can I make so many beats in so short time? I know it's a lot of work to make 10 new beats every week, but let me tell you a little secret. I'm pretty sure you guys heard about DubTurbo. I know, I know...it's for amateurs. But guess what: Rappers & Singers who lease beats online LOVE DubTurbo beats. Why? Don't ask me, I have no idea! I guess it's the simplicity that attracts them, but you will have guaranteed rapper-friendly beats, when you use DubTurbo. I wouldn't use it for industry artists, but it's cool for the young kids, who buy beats online! If you want to check out DubTurbo click here.
  2. Website - I know many of you guys hate this part, but you really need a GOOD website to sell beats online. Yes, a website - not a SoundClick page. I know that some of the myFlashStore top sellers sell their beats on SoundClick - yes, but they have something that you don't have - A HUGE FANBASE. But trust me, you can make way more money than that by having your own website. Everyday more rappers leave SoundClick & buy their beats from websites they find on Google! If you don't know how to design or code a website, hit me up & I'll help you. Since you're part of myFlashStore, I'll give you a very affordable offer. I've coded about 50 websites so far, I can have yours done in 2-3 hours. My contact information is at the very on of this post! Let's move on...
  3. Traffic - What's a good website without traffic, right? I have to admit, that this is a big pain if you have no idea about it. But nowadays it's easy - we all have the web & we can use it for research. I'd suggest you check out Underground Traffic Secrets. It's basically a very cheap way to learn how to drive a lot of traffic to your website & start earning money!
  4. Keep your website updated - Ok, this is the last step & probably the most important one. Why? Well, your visitors LOVE to see that you still care about your website & about the products that you offer. They appreciate the seriosity. Just like you - when you buy a bottle of Coke, i'm sure you don't want it to be a few years old & with dust on it, right?

That's it basically. Let's make it clear - you won't make $300 Million dollars every day using this technique, but you'll have a solid & regular income by exactly following the steps. I'll post a lot more in the future, because I learned so many techniques & tricks that can be done on the internet - you can't even imagine how huge the internet marketing is right now, but I'll reveal some of the knowledge every time I post on here.

I hope you enjoyed the article - if you did - please, please, please: Share it on Facebook & Twitter by simply using the buttons that are provided by myFlashStore - it's just 2 clicks literarily. THANKS!

Upload beat-making videos YouTube!

Hey guys,

I saw a lot of producers uploading their beat-making videos on YouTube & actually being successful by doing this. Why? Well, Artists LOVE to see producers making HIGH QUALITY & PROFESSIONAL beats. They'd rather buy a beat from somebody who can prove that he's using professional gear to make his beats.

I haven't tested this yet, but I know this from successful YouTube producers...and their view numbers talk for themselves!

When uploading, make sure you put a link on the description, so artists who want to check out your beats don't have to do long research.

Hope this will help some of you guys!

Take advantage of your tools: MyFlashStore Bubble Store

Hey guys,

I thought about another quick tip - to share with you, which is probably very effective. MyFlashStore allows us to change the background image for the Bubble Store. This is pretty cool, because a lot of websites are designed in certain Theme colors & now you can adapt even your beat store! That will help you look more professional & organized as a Business Company & you will gain way more respect and attention from your visitors!

Besides that, it looks better if your beat store looks unique, not like 10,000 other beat stores :)

If you're not sure about how to design or size your Custom Image for the beat store, feel free to contact me & I will help you! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The "Legendary" Master Bus Compression

What's up guys!

Many producers struggle with this: Master Bus Compression...use it or not? If yes, what settings are relevant for me? What does it do? In this post I will show you how I do & use it. The following information is very useful, because I learned this from Grammy Award Winning Producers & Mixing Engineers, so it's really Gold worth! Most of the records in the Industry use Master Bus Compression.

I prefer the Waves SSL Compressor on my Master Bus, because it has a certain characteristic which no other plug-in achives. It works best, for me at least. These are the setting, which I use everytime!

Sometimes, I play with the make up gain knob, if too much signal is coming in. Some Mixing Engineers would also change the Release time. There are certain tracks, which sound better with another release time.

I also created 2 tracks, so you can listen to the HUGE difference between COMPRESSED & UNCOMPRESSED.

Uncompressed Version:

Compressed Version:

I'm pretty sure that everybody will hear a huge difference & effect. This is actually the tool, that adds the final "radio characteristic" to your music. Hopefully this post helped you guys!

PS: Make sure you share this on Twitter, etc & feel free to comment. Thanks!

How to send beats to A&R's and Music Executives

What's up guys!

Since there are so many possibilities nowadays to send your music to A&R's and Music Executives, I'd like to share a few important information with ya'll.

  • The point where most producers fail is: DO NOT ASK THEM FOR MONEY WHEN YOU SUBMIT BEATS! I know some guys send messages like that: "Ayoo wassup bro? Check this beat out. I'm dope..the hottest producer in the game right now. I'm flamez. Send me 5000 bux if you wanna use this track." (This always makes my day when I read messages like that :) If you write messages like that, I can guarantee, that you won't see a cent! You can talk about $$$ later.
  • Keep it short! A&R's don't want to know your whole life story. They don't care if you ever worked at McDonald's or if you ever sold dope. A short bio about you & your activities in music is OK.
  • Contact Information. When you send tracks make sure you add your E-Mail, Phone Number, Address, etc. I prefer to write my E-Mail address in the ID3 tag of the MP3 file, just in case the A&R accidentally deletes the original E-Mail.
  • Let them know what artist you can hear on the beat(s) you sent. Something like "In the vein of Rihanna, Trey Songz, Chris Brown". This actually helps the A&R a lot to understand your music.
  • Send FULL tracks. No snippets or unfinished tracks.
  • Do NOT tag your whole beat. That's what A&R's hate most. It's like Artists who want free beats for us producers. 1-2 tags are enough.
  • Probably the most IMPORTANT thing: Send your BEST tracks. Listen with friends to your beats, ask them for their opinion. Get them reviewed by other Producers as well! The beats won't automatically be hot, just because you like them. Make sure the crowd likes it too, because those are the people, who will buy the final record.
Hopefully it was helpful for ya'll!
PS.: Don't forget to share this on Twitter!

Google +1 Button

Hi MyFlashStore Users!

The +1 button is shorthand for "this is pretty cool" or "you should check this out."

That's how Google present their latest "baby".

I'm pretty sure a lot of ya'll already know about Google's new +1 button. If not, make sure you get some info about it! I found out that Google will rank your website better if you have the +1 button on it & a good amount of users press it.

Click here to read more about the Google +1 Button.

Google will give you an HTML code for your website to put that button on your website. If you use WordPress (like I do), I'd recommend this plugin.

If you want to see the +1 Button in action, check out http://www.shynebeats.com - feel free to click it :)

The plugin that I used automatically puts the button in all posts & pages.

Quick Tip: Share Your Content

What's good myFlashStore users!

I'd like to briefly tell you about a nice tool that ya'll should add to your website, since it looks like it's very effective. The tool i'm talking about is AddThis.com. It's basically a widget, which let's you put a few "share buttons" on your own website.

I uploaded a screenshot from my website, so ya'll know what it looks like:

Now...what this tool does: If somebody click "Like"...he'll automatically share that certain site on FaceBook (because all his friends see the link). Same with Twitter, MySpace & many many more.

In other words it's FREE PROMOTION for you. If your visitors like your website/your beats they'll hit "Like" or "Tweet" & drive a lot of traffic to that site.

Since I have a Blog on my website, I put "AddThis" on every single page, so my visitors/readers can share any content they like.

PS: If you don't mind. You see this kind of "Share Button" on this post too, right?...Why don't share this post with other people too? Just saying :)

Finding the Right People!

I noticed that a large number of Beatmakers & Producers have really dope Beats, but their marketing sucks! Even though...some of them are working really hard & are spending hundreds of bucks on Advertisments. The main reason why they aren't selling anything (or just a few beats a month) is because most of them are talking to the wrong people. This is probably one of the most-made mistake in the history of marketing!

In this Article, I want to share with ya'll how it's done right!

Here's how I use to do it: There's a real nice website called http://www.QuantCast.com. It's basically a website, which shows you the Demographics of another website. It shows you how many visitors visited a certain website, how old they are, where they went to school, what browser they're using, etc. This might sound a little bit crazy, but that's how it works! I use to check the demographics of the biggest beat-selling websites on the web. Well what it tells me is: most of the visitors are between 18-34 years old, male, went to College, use Firefox, etc.

By having this kind of information, it automatically makes me a little richer! Why? Well...I adapt my website to the visitors that I'd like to have! I design my ads, so they be interesting to people between 18-34 years (no childish advertisment banners, etc..) For example: I won't put "Justin Bieber" on my advertisment banner to "represent" my website..because I don't want 14-year old girls to come & listen to my beats...I'd rather put someone like "B.o.B" or "Eminem".

It's a basic & simple idea, but very effective. Imagine: This could be the point where your whole business could change!

I'll post more of this kind of articles! So stay tuned.

Feel free to E-Mail me if you have any questions!

How to Get Your Music Heard by A&Rs, Record Labels, Record Producers!

In the following article I'll tell you the best ways, about how you, as an Artist/Rapper/Singer, will be able to get your music heard by Industry People! Before you can do all these things though, you will have to make sure that your music is Industry Ready! By "Industry Ready" I mean: If your music gets selected by a radio personality, he should be able to just hit "Play" & let the record be heard. So basically, your music has to be on point, mixed & mastered. Let's move on...

Before I start telling you all the "secrets, tips & tricks" that I know about in the Music Industry, I'd like to tell you a little bit about me. I'm a Music Producer from Europe. I have been working with Artists & Record Labels all over the world, from the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Germany & many more countries. The funny/best thing about it: I didn't even have to get off my computer to get my music heard!

It sounds simple, indeed it is, but it requires hard work. Like everything else you will ever do to make money, you have to be serious about your business. So check out the list I wrote below. All these "points" will work for you as an Artist, because I experienced them myself!

  1. Send out Demo-CD's/Tapes to Record Labels/A&R's. It's true that they literally are flooded with Demos all the time, every day. But guess what: They listen to every single record on the tape. Imagine, if you was an A&R - all you would do all day is listening to music - looking for the next big hit - because that's your job. Wouldn't you give every single record a try? Well, A&R's do so. But there are a few very important thing you shouldn't forget about when sending out Demos. Make sure that the CD looks great, not a simple plain CD with a handwritten "DEMO". Get a professional design on your CD. It's definitely worth! Of course your music has to be on point, otherwise it wouldn't make sense. Don't forget to add you contact information (phone number, e-mail address, physical address,...) so they know who to contact. You can collect A&R's/Record Labels on the web. Just search for "Record Labels Contact Information" or "Record A&R Contact" on Google, you will find tons of contacts.
  2. Get a good manager. This is probably the best & most comfortable way to get your music heard. Why? Simply because the manager will do all the work for you & you will have the time to concentrate on the music. Before you get your music in the hands of a Manager, do your research! A good Manager is a person, who has tons of contacts in the Music Industry & knows what the Industry is looking for. He/She should also instruct you & tell you about the music that will sell.
  3. Collect friends on Social Networks & hope that someone will find you. Sounds funny, right? Well, it's probably not the best way, but it works! I know one of my artists, who rapped over my beats. He uploaded some simple videos on YouTube. After a few months a guy from Sony contacted him & now they do business together. Simple as that.

There are many more ways to get your music heard, but these are the most effective ones, if you're an independent Artist. I hope you enjoyed the article. If you have any questions feel free to contact me!
