About me: The motto “No Pain No Gain” is something rapper and songwriter Daron Johnson, musically known as Dizzyact strongly stands by. Born and raised down in the Deep South where music is food to soul introduced Dizzy to the music industry. Developing a creative passion for producing music eventually became bigger than Dizzy ever dreamed of. Many of his musical influences include Outkast, Biggie, Kanye West, and current artist such as Pusha T and Titty Boi. Although, his musical influences range from a wide musical market of artist, Dizzy continually reminds his fans “My music is my music, this is me. I’m not trying to be anybody else but Dizzy”. This profound statement speaks volumes and allows fans to understand his music is unique and authentic.
At age a young age, Dizzy’s parents eventually went separate ways, which led his family to moving to the motor city Detroit, MI. During his freshman in High School, Dizzy fueled his life experience and struggle to stay out of the streets by writing and producing for other local artists within the Detroit area. Instead of using the negative experiences in his life as a clutch he fueled his struggles with motivation and determination. He insisted to do better and be better, which was exactly what he did. During his sophomore year in High School, he completed and sold his first mixtape entitled All Acts Aside selling over 2,500 copies. Dizzy’s mixtape was sold to various friends and students within the Detroit metropolitan area. Successfully producing a mixtape was the start of something bigger than Dizzy ever expected.
Dizzy is currently working on his first solo mixtape entitled The Smoking Section expected to release June 11,2011. The mixtape is a metaphor that defines relaxation, composure and separation. This mixtape is dedicated to the loss of his brother and friends who fell victim to the streets. This outlet of emotion will allow Dizzy to emotionally connect to his fans and allow them to see a softer side of his music.
