We all know that we want to be successful, the problem is figuring out how to do exactly that, be successful. I come into contact with many different types of artist on a regular basis, who all struggle with this question. I've been in the music business for quite sometime now, I've produced music that has been featured nationally, and internationally, in hundreds of television shows and films, that include names like; 50 Cent, Ludacris, T-Pain, Eminem, Rick Ross, Robert De Niro, NBA, MTV, VH1, NBC, A&E, XXL, Nike, Google, Time magazine, Youtube, and so on, and so on. Really it's just far too many to mention, but I'm serious, and I did it on my own!

Some believe that they need a manager, or some sort of representation, and that's true! However, most fall into the trap of allowing a friend, family member, or that slick talkin' P. I. M. P., (my acronym, Pitiful, Immature, Misled, Person), who probably didn't even graduate High School, to speak on their behalf. Unfortunately, in most cases, the artist will become burnt long before, one of the aforementioned individuals, secures any type of deal that's worth while. Look at like this, if you needed heart surgery, would you allow even your best friend to operate on you? Probably not, unless of course your best friend has spent six to nine years (or longer) training to become a fully qualified surgeon.

Your career should be taken just as serious as a heart attack, and honestly, most of the artist I come across are literally in cardiac arrest, as far as their careers are concerned. They are following people who have less knowledge, than they have themselves! It's a classic case of the blind leading the blind. Now think about this for a minute.......... Who are you following? What makes them qualified to represent you as an artist? Have they had any prior success in the music business? What is their work ethic like? Do they work hard for you? Are they passionate about your work, and what you do? If you've answered no to any of these questions, you may want to rethink who you are following.
