A voicetag is a personalized audio snippet that plays over your beats to protect them from theft. A voicetag most commonly consists of someone repeating the producers name every 20-30 seconds. This is obviously not the only way a voicetag has to be, you can personalize your voicetag however you see fit.This method of protection works great against people who try to record the audio output of the web browser to essentially make a carbon copy of your beat.

Here are a few pointers on making a successful voicetag;

  1. The voicetag is looped over the beat, and there is no time delay between loops. So when making a voicetag, try to leave about 15-20 seconds of silent audio after or before the actual voice tag.
  2. The voicetag must be in mp3 format. Try to make it mono and a low bit rate when bouncing to ensure the voicetag is quickly downloaded by the user when a song is played. About 64kbps is a a good place to start but obviously if the sound quality unlistenable, then increase the bit rate until it sounds listenable.
  3. You will probably need to experiment with the volume of the voicetag until it sounds reasonable above your songs.

That's about it for the voicetag, its pretty straight forward but may take some trial and error to get right.

To add a voicetag to your beats, follow these steps

1. Login to your account and goto Members->Settings in the navigation

2. On the settings page, click Change Voicetag in the Voicetag section

3. You may be presented with a browser warning regarding the Java uploader, make sure you click Allow. If you do not see this warning and you do not see the Java uploader at all, you will need to download and install Java from http://www.java.com. Once installed, refresh the voicetag page and you should see the uploader.

4. Click Add on the top left of the uploader

5. Select your voicetag file on your computer, click open, then click the big upload button on the bottom left of the uploader.

6. Once the voicetag has been uploaded, you will be able to preview it by clicking the play button. You can also delete the voicetag by clicking [Delete]
