Great tips... RTFM. Even the basics is enough to get started, but if you have to learn one instrument definitely make it piano. Live music - or at least, audio. Talk to other producers. I've learned more from other people on the same path than from any teacher, book or manual. Find out what hardware they like, what new plug-ins they've got, what new techniques they've discovered..

I think piano is a great instrument to play while you're arranging or producing.

I always thought it was better than a guitar fretboard to relate with musical theory, because it's all laid out in a line while on a guitar, you can get the same notes on more than one string. Hopefully that makes sense.

Piano definitely seems the most logical and I'd say it is the most beneficial..

Neat! Is this for progressing here? Because you didn't really tell what exactly is it for.

Interesting tips! but very helpful i think..i guess what you mean were how to improve your skills on the instruments and software of which will minimize your cost of hiring someone to do the job on the later date if you're trying to produce or something ..is this what you mean for this ? jsut correct if i am wrong on this one..
