Ok so here is the big debate, Mac VS PC - what does everyone think and why?

This debate is stupid. We all know that both have features that we need. like Pc- people love using pc for there fl studio beat making stuff and stuff like that.

MAc- ppl love the graphics... logic, speed, pro tools and stuff like that..

They both are computers with useful tools.

I say both are good. To end this debate. Go buy a mac and a pc and see for your self how good both are =) me personally i like both.

I see no real debate here. Having used both, extensively, I almost feel the superiority of one over the other to be almost embarrassing. One makes me want to throw it through the window, the other makes me want to take it to bed with me. Literally (not like that, though.. get your mind out of the gutter).

Of course, that's for me and not everyone will feel the same. Just seems like everybody I know that has used both PC and Mac a lot has the same opinion.

But I'm not telling you which one I prefer, because at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you use or how you use it as long as it sounds good.

I think it's like if Hendrix or Clapton picked up a Les Paul instead of a Strat, it would still be magic.

I think part of Mac's initial appeal is that it comes with a nicer keyboard and other hardware, where with PCs you can get better accessories, but it's at least another purchase.

I like using PC and I've enjoyed my sessions with a Mac, but I'm not planning to switch. I wouldn't mind owning a Mac as well...

But it's not just an initial appeal, that's when when people go Mac, they never go back.

1. It comes with loads of software as standard, unlike pc's with the tons of shit that you have to delete as soon as you buy the thing.

2. It is nearly impossible to get a virus on a Mac.

3. They keep their speed, unlike PC's which slow down the more things you install, requiring you to format the damn thing every month.

4. Look better, feel better and work better

I mean, I could go on forever, but at the end of the day Mac's are better. No, it won't make you a better producer, artist, graphic designer etc, but a carpenter uses the best tools because they are the best, not because they will make him better.

Even better than that, install Parallels - you can run windows applications inside Mac OS X - sick piece of software, saves you from booting into windows separately

i work with both mac and pc. me as an artist, producer/ editor, only care about one thing... "performance" i dont care how it looks, smells, or anything else, as long as it can edit high end hd video equipment and software, and run intensive audio programs, i'm happy. that being said, both computers can do that "with a little upgrading/investing". the only question is which one does it the cheapest. this is where the pc steps ahead. we all know that you can build a beast of a mac, but its gonna cost you some bucks. i could build a pc with the same specs (quadcores, monster graphics card(s), killer motherboards, etc), for 40% cheaper than a mac parts/upgrades. these days super fast computers are everywhere. its simply comes down to budget to me. i can build a cheaper pc, and spend the savings on my endless wishlist of music/video gear. yeah pc's may run funny sometimes, but any savvy pc user can optomize a pc in no time flat, especially if it save em 1000+ dollars. i like em both, but my wallet likes pcs more.
