Does anybody else here use the Minimoog V?

I've had it for a couple of years and I love it even though it hogs my CPU resources.

I've never had a real Minimoog, but I still have my Micromoog that still finds its way onto some tracks every now and then.

I got the Minimoog plug-in but didn't really get into it. Anything with Rob Papen's name on it is pretty sick - Predator, Blue, Albine, etc.. I like GURU for drums, prefer it to Battery because of the step sequencer - something which is lacking in Logic.

So far I've basically used the presets that came with it, so I'm not getting as much out of it as it could be doing.

I'd like to check out GURU. Lately I've been using a combination of the drum plugin that came with Cubase, combined with a free demo version of Addictive Drums.

I never really got on too well with Cubase, I had SX3 though so I don't know what the plug-ins are like now.

Even when I found Logic I was still using Reason for the drums, despite having Battery, until I got GURU. I think it is the best drum plug-in I've seen hands down.

I really want to get into the Minimoog, I'll see if I still have it installed and play around with it so I can let you know what I think.

The last few times I've used it in mixes, I was taking advantage of the polyphony feature of it, which you obviously couldn't to on the original hardware with one track.

I've not tried the other Minimoog emulations. I think it was cool that the Minimoog V was endorsed by Robert Moog.

Well, if Bob says it's good then it must be good!

Yes, that definitely caught my attention. I think he passed away shortly after the Minimoog V was released.

Arturia has some other Moog products, including a virtual modular synth I have a demo version of that but I'm not all that familiar with it at this point.
